why canada needs tbdyeg
we can probably agree on a few things.
it’s not like canada is missing talent. or ambition. or even capital.
so then what’s going on?
why does it feel like the people who really want to build something big
eventually look south?
in the u.s., thinking big isn’t a personality trait — it’s just normal.
you move fast, you take risks, and sometimes it actually works.
here, it’s different.
we talk about building great companies.
but most of what exists is… safe. structured. predictable.
another program isn’t going to change that.
this isn’t about more support.
it’s about what we expect.
tbdyeg is an experiment.
10 founders. one house. one summer.
just trying to see what happens when you put people in the right environment
and remove every excuse.
no curriculum. no hand-holding.
just time, pressure, and people who actually care about building.
we’re not pretending this creates billion-dollar companies.
we’re trying to answer something simpler:
what happens when the bar actually moves?
